We’ve all heard the saying “You are what you eat”, and this is a 100% true statement. Eating your way to a healthier, happier and sexier version of ourselves, is on the minds of many singles out there. Anything that we apply on our skin or consume in the body has a direct and often immediate impact to how we look and feel. With so much hype and focus surrounding having a “balanced diet”, maintaining a healthy mind and body, diet and exercise, food and nutrition, fashion and beauty, it’s important to recognize that almost everything we do to our bodies and whatever we eat WILL have an effect to our physical, mental and emotional well being.
If you’re ready to jump start your way into a healthier, happier and sexier you and have the body you’ve always wanted; let’s look at the foods we eat and start choosing the best foods for your mind and body.
Feeding Your #1 Sex Organ: The Brain
The brain is a fascinating and complex organ. What a person feels, hears, smells, tastes, thinks, and sees depends on what the brain is communicating to the individual’s body. It is therefore the most important organ to feed and take care of. The brain is the centre of all five senses and in the centre of the brain is the limbic system which is obviously important to nourish. This is where the mind and body meets and where thoughts meet emotions.

Beauty Foods
Kimberly Snyder, C.N, Celebrity nutritionist and author of The Beauty DETOX Solution believes that plant protein is beauty protein. There are a variety of enzyme-rich and mineral-rich foods that will help boost your Beauty Energy. Many plant foods contain the eight essential amino acids; which are required to be considered a complete protein. These are found in seeds, sprouts, vegetables and nuts. Specifically cabbage, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, kale, summer squash, asparagus and spinach. Animal protein should be eaten only once a day at most; with the goal being to limit meat protein and consumption, to two to three times a week.
The best nuts and seeds to eat are almonds, Brazil Nuts, coconuts, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, pecans and Hemp seeds. The best legumes and beans to eat are black beans, green beans, lentils, lima beans, kidney beans, chickpeas, adzuki beans and mung beans.
The 80/20 Ratio
The pH level is one of the most important balance systems of the body. The term pH stands for “potential” of “Hydrogen”. It is the amount of hydrogen ions in a particular solution. The pH level is a measure of acidity or alkalinity, on a scale of 0.0 to 14.0, with zero being most acid, fourteen being most alkaline and seven being mid-range. Diet is probably the most important change we can make to balance our natural pH. The average all-American diet consists of about 80% acid–forming foods! Processed and refined foods are extremely acidic to our systems. A way to reach our pH balance goal in order to look and feel our best is to follow the 80 percent alkaline-forming foods and 20 percent acid-forming foods. These food types are generally FRESH, ripe fruits and vegetables (except starchy options such as potatoes) Cleansing and detoxifying is another great way to get your body back in optimal balance.
